Introduction to Sewing 101!
Always wanted to learn how to sew? Over four three-hour evening classes at Saskatoon Makerspace you'll learn to use a sewing machine, discover how fabric and notions (small tools, accessories, and fastenings used to complete a project e.g.thread, buttons, zippers, and pins) work, and understand the sewing process from idea to execution. Along the way you'll tackle two projects: a tote bag and a small project of your own choosing from a few options. We also cover one practical repair skill each week - buttons, seams, patches, and hems - so you leave with skills you can use right away.
If you have a working machine, bring it; if not, we can provide one.
Participants will need to supply their own fabric and notions. We will send a required supply list to participants in advance of the first class.
Class Dates: October 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th from 6pm - 9 pm
