MACRAME Workshop

  • Saskatoon Makerspace 209 Avenue D South Saskatoon, SK, S7M 1P8 Canada (map)

Join us for a beginner-friendly macrame workshop and create your very own boho-chic plant hanger. Beyond creating beautiful pieces that elevate any space, the macrame knotting process acts as a form of practical mindfulness. It allows participants to disconnect from screens, quiet their minds, connect with their hands, and leave with a genuine sense of accomplishment and pride.

Macrame plant hangers are classic and functional, and add a beautiful touch of greenery and life to any home.

All materials are included, including premium cotton cords in a variety of colours, natural wooden dowels or branches, beads, scissors and setups for comfortable crafting.

The workshop will begin with a brief look into the world of macrame, and an overview of the materials. Participants will then learn foundational knots such as the square knot, spiral knot and others before working on their individual plant hangers. Our experienced instructor will offer personalised guidance, tips and support through the making. The workshop will end with adding the finishing touches including trimming and brushing the fringe, before taking your new plant hanger home with you.

The fine print.

We do not offer full refunds for classes. Class tickets can be transferred to another date as long as you contact us at least 4 days in advance so we have time to sell your ticket to someone else. Our classes are primarily designed for adults, however we do allow youth ages 14+ to come to a class with a parent/guardian. Anyone 16+ is allowed to go to a class on their own but must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian.

*Soap making being the exception, it is an 18+ class.
