Create a custom collar and leash set for your dog in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop at Saskatoon Makerspace.
Over two 3-hour workshops, participants will learn how to work with paracord, waterproof webbing and selecting appropriate dog-gear hardware to make a stylish, matching adjustable collar and leash from start to finish.
You’ll learn two practical braiding techniques: the Waterwave braid for the collar and a Herringbone braid for the leash. Our experienced instructor will guide you through each step of assembling and finishing your pieces.
Before the workshop, you will be contacted to choose your own combination of paracord and waterproof webbing colours, and to provide your dog’s collar measurement so your materials can be prepared specifically for your project. With plenty of colour combinations available, every finished set can look completely different.
No previous braiding or gear-making experience is required. The class is designed to introduce you to the materials, tools and techniques in an approachable way, with hands-on instruction throughout.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home:
A custom adjustable paracord dog collar
A matching handmade leash
Access to the step-by-step digital instructions so you can revisit the techniques and make more projects at home
No experience required, all materials are included.
