Join us for a Woodshop 101 class where you learn to make your own charcuterie board. This is a two-part course, please check that you can make both the dates below. In this course you will learn about safety and operation of woodworking tools in the Makerspace shop while learning the basics of cutting, milling, gluing and clamping, routering, sanding and finishing. The final product will be a charcuterie board to take home. 

This class has two days that are required.

September session: September 14, 21

November session: November 16, 23

During the first class you will learn about woodshop tools and equipment (mitre saw, table saw, band saw, drill press, jointer, and planer), the basic process of making the charcuterie board, prepping the wood, and gluing and clamping. 

In the second class you will plane and cut the glued boards, do any desired routering, and then sand and finish the board. 

At the end of the session you will have your Woodshop 101 certification, allowing you to come back to Makerspace to use the woodshop in the future, and will get to take home a custom charcuterie board that you made yourself.

Each board will be approximately 12"x16" in size, but may vary from board to board depending on wood availability.

The fine print.

We do not offer full refunds for classes. Class tickets can be transferred to another date as long as you contact us at least 4 days in advance so we have time to sell your ticket to someone else. We will only transfer your ticket to the next class one time. With less than 4 days notice, we can refund 50% of the ticket price.

Our classes are primarily designed for adults, however we do allow youth ages 14+ to come to a class with a parent/guardian. Anyone 16+ is allowed to go to a class on their own but must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian.

*Soap making being the exception, it is an 18+ class.
